MerrySquish makes one thing: a countdown calendar with a soft squishy toy behind every door. It started with a simple complaint about chocolate calendars, which is that by the 26th of December there is nothing left but a cardboard tray. Ours leaves twenty-five toys that get lined up on windowsills, carried to school and squeezed flat on desks well into the spring. Every box is packed the same way: twenty-four numbered cells under a foil seal, a different character behind each one, and one jumbo squishy behind the last door.
